If your OCD about your OSX Dock, you may be interested in having space between groups of apps. In Terminal type (as always, without quotes):

Left side:
“defaults write com.apple.dock persistent-apps -array-add ‘{“tile-type”=”spacer-tile”;}’ ;killall Dock”

Right side:
“defaults write com.apple.dock persistent-others -array-add ‘{tile-data={}; tile-type=”spacer-tile”;}’ ;killall Dock”

If you want multiple spaces just enter it again.

The space can be rearranged like any app, and removed by dragging it above the dock and letting go.
